Bad Breath Remedy

At one time or another, most people will find themselves looking for a bad breath remedy.   Gums, mouthwashes and mints all can help mask bad breath temporarily.  But, what about a permanent solution?

Bad breath originates many times right in the mouth.  Bacteria can build up and the waste products of this bacteria is what gives off the foul smell.   There are several steps you can take at home to combat bad breath.

Step 1.   Floss your teeth twice daily.   This will help to loosen any stuck food particles.

Step 2. Brush your teeth at least twice each day.  This will help to keep plaque scrubbed of your teeth and will also brush away those loosened food particles.

Step 3.  Brush your tongue.  A lot of the source of bad breath comes from buildup on the tongue. You can brush or scrape your tongue to remove this buildup.

Step 4.  Rinse with mouthwash.  There are many varieties of mouthwash on the market, so you have a good choice.  If you find one is too strong, try one that does not contain alcohol.

Step 5.  Drink water throughout the day to keep your mouth moistened.  A dry mouth will be more likely to cause bad breath.

If you are still having issues, visit your dentist to see if it’s possible you have some cracked fillings or another cause for your bad breath.

Following the steps above is as good as having a bad breath remedy right in your own home.
